EXCITING GLIMPSE OF EVEREST TREK – 11 DAYS

As you arrive at the International airport in Kathmandu, our representative will be waiting with the placard of your name. We shall welcome and then drive you to the hotel. During the 30 minutes of the drive, you can enjoy the views of Kathmandu Valley.

In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional Nepalese welcome dinner.

In the morning, enjoy your breakfast at your hotel’s outlet. Thereafter, our team will pick you from the gate to proceed with day-long sightseeing tours. Kathmandu (also known as the city of Temples) has many UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. We shall explore them during our trip.

We will proceed from the hotel towards Swayambhunath. Also known as the Monkey Temple, this is an ancient religious complex suited to the top of the hill in the Kathmandu valley.

From the premises, the Kathmandu valley is visible below your feet. The monkeys running up and down in the stupa will keep you entertained.

After then, we drive towards the holy Hindu temple known as Pasupatinath. This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is the biggest Hindu shrine located on the bank of the Bagmati River. 

You can take your time to explore the exotic wood and metal crafts in the premises. After, we drive to visit Boudhanath stupa. It is one of the holiest sites for Buddhist around the world. The colourful lights, prayer flags, and the rotating wheels make the region extremely beautiful. You can see the Tibetan monks chanting their prayers.

Then, we will head towards the final destination of the day, Kathmandu Durbar Square. Also known as Basantapur, this is the centre of the culture and history of Nepal.

During your trip, you will visit the home of Kumari – Living goddess, Kasthmandap (a temple constructed by the branch of a single tree), Kalo Bhairaw temple, and Seto Bhairawa.

After a beautiful sightseeing day, we drive back to the hotel. You can complete the last-minute shopping. Your guide can assist you with the shopping of any last-minute trekking equipment. You can spend the rest of the evening strolling around the streets of Thamel.

Early morning, we will take a flight to Lukla. The 30 minutes flight offers us a glimpse of Mt. Everest and other mountain peaks. Lukla airport is one of the most thrilling and adventurous airports in the world. This is ideally the gateway to the Khumbu region. Almost all major trek to the Everest region beings from Lukla.

After some preparation in Lukla, we start our trek. On the trail, we will leave the small Sherpa farm villages and cross some suspension bridges. The nice and pleasant walk of about four hours takes us to the beautiful village of Phakding. The village is suited by Dudh Koshi, a glacial River.

After breakfast, our journey towards Namche Bazaar (3,440m) commences. The trail leads to the right bank of Dudh Koshi. We can witness the Thamserku peaks that stand majestically skyward.

As we reach the place called Benkar, the path climbs from the Dudh Koshi River riverbed. We walk through a forest to Chumoa and continue the path with many ups and downs. We shall cross a stream and a classic village of Monjo.

Here, we arrive at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance point where the park entry fee is to be paid (Fee included in tour cost). After the formalities, we take a short walk along the riverbed. Crossing high Hillary bridge, we take a steep ascent towards Namche Bazar.

On the way, we can enjoy the views of Everest and Lhotse that is surrounded by mountain vistas. After some time, we will reach Namche Bazaar (3440m).

Namche Bazaar is a centre of the Everest region for trekking gear, foods, and other necessary goods. It is the world’s most vibrant place at such altitude.

As we are already at 3,440m above sea level, our body needs to have some rest. No place could be better than Namche Bazaar to let our muscles relax. But we will not remain inactive throughout the day.

After breakfast, we shall climb to an altitude of 3,880m where we can spend some time in the Everest View Hotel.

The view of peaks such as Mt. Everest, Tabuche, Amadablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, and Kwangde can be mesmerising. If we have enough time, we can visit the mountain museum and Shyangboche Airport. 

After exploring the region, we will get back to Namche Bazaar for the overnight stay. We can enjoy the evening by strolling around the marketplace. The eateries and bars in the place are like a rescue at such altitude.

This is an ideal opportunity to experience the lifestyle of mountain people — the Sherpa.

Overnight at Namche Bazaar

After a wonderful day in Namche, we will start to trek toward Tengboche. First, we shall take a gradual scenic path down towards the Imja Tse River. At Phungi Thanga, we shall stop for lunch. After lunch, we shall climb uphill through the forest of Rhododendron, firs, and pines with awesome views of snow capped peaks.

On reaching Tengboche, we explore the famous Buddhist monastery. This is the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region. Tengboche offers the magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Kangtenga, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.

With the view of Mt. Amadablam on the background and valley of Pangboche in front, the stay in Tengboche is going to be momentous and picturesque.

The journey downwards is way easier as you lose altitude every minute. On the trail back, we shall cross some suspension bridges and many small streams. We shall walk through the cool forested area of Rhododendron, Maple, and Oak.

We walk through the classic Sherpa settlement in the region. If you are lucky, you might spot goats, pheasants, yaks, and other wild Himalayan animals and birds.

After crossing the bridge over the Imja Khola, the trail eventually goes up. Here, you can enjoy the views of Thamserku, Nuptse, and Amadablam Mountains.

The path leads us to the Namche Bazaar. In the evening, we might want to have some delicious cuisine in one of the restaurants in Namche Bazaar.

Overnight at Namche Bazaar

This is an easy day of the trek as we walk for about 4 hours on the descending trail. We wake up early in the morning to enjoy the excellent sunrise from the place.

If you haven’t explored some places of Namche Bazaar earlier, you can wander the place until you have breakfast at the hotel.

On this day, we walk down to Monjo. We pass through the Sagarmatha National Park crossing the shaded forested area. Waving a final goodbye to the world’s highest mountain, we continue our walk.

During the walk, we cross many suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. This can be a thrilling experience. A deep descend finally takes you to Monjo. This is the small yet beautiful settlement in the region with a few tea houses.

After breakfast, we start to trek as we cross the Hillary Suspension Bridge. This bridge is famous in the area. We shall pass through several local settlements. The walk is easy- the path is mostly levelled.

After a couple of hours, we will stop for lunch. Continuing to walk to the lower altitude is fun. In about four hours, we reach Lukla.

As we arrive in Lukla, we can rest in our last Tea House stop. The trekking days are over now.

Traditionally, trekkers prefer having a small party with the crew. The party indicated that we nailed it as a team! This is our very last night on the mountain together.

Usually, our flight is scheduled in the morning. If the weather is in our favour, we shall fly back right after our breakfast. While you wait for the flight to arrive, you can capture a few glimpses of the Himalayas.

A thrilling 30 minutes flight takes us to the capital. As you land at the airport, our staff will drive you to the hotel.

The rest of the day, you can explore the area around your hotel. You can buy gifts for yourself and your loved one. Thamel has a beautiful collection of classic handicraft that reminds you of this beautiful country.

In the evening, we will enjoy our farewell dinner together. This will be our last meal as a team. We can talk about the bittersweet memories of the trek. It’s high time for the celebration.

This is your last day in this amazing land of Himalayan wonders. In the morning, you can enjoy your last breakfast in Kathmandu.

If the flight is scheduled in the evening, you can explore the area. You can visit the Garden of Dreams- a classic Nepalese garden.

Our staff will drive you to the airport, three hours before the flight time. After waving a final goodbye to each other, our journey ends here. We wish a safe journey towards homeward.
